"Aquarhuile" !
The Gallery Saint-Cyr exhibit in its walls the works of the Norman painters Elisabeth Besnier and Ludovic Lepage. The exhibition takes place from 1st till 31 October 2009 in 20 street Percière in Rouen.
Having ventured on the watercolor, Elisabeth Besnier prefers the acrylic and especially the oil worked on the knife. She joins in a figurative art by realizing a series of young ladies' portraits in which, she seizes with subtlety the light, the forms and the details, allying the "brutality" of the knife and the unctuousness of the oil.
From his part, Ludovic Lepage, leaves a moment his African fractions, to be interested in the nature: he presents a series of landscapes in watercolor going from the low tide, in the fields of poppies by way of the edges of the Seine. He succeeds in transcribing the movement of the almost tangible elements, the light and the time.
As a matter of fact, this exhibition presents, by means of two very different painters, a vitality which springs with mastery of two opposite materials : the watercolor and the oil.
A pigmented exhibition to see absolutely!
